An idea from John Mackay
Just had a simple idea which I thought would work really well at GB and be fun as well. Was thinking it would be good to to a 'plinth' at GB and have people standing on it doing ...?. Although I realise not a terribly original idea and that it's totally nicked from Anthony Gormley in Trafalgar Square at the moment I thought it could be a bit of a different way for people to interact with the arts at GB. You could have a similar application system as Gormley has had but perhaps have a theme, maybe along the lines of 'a sideways look' or something. I could imagine the GB audience embracing the idea in quite a big way.
I realise this is the bare bones of an idea whist I am cooking tea but....!

just wondering, if the campaign to bring back the gb fringe is successful maybe this plinth idea is something that would work in that area of the festival...?
and whether there's a possible link-up with the g-source tent [i'd imagine a lot of the campaigning groups would be interested in using it to publicise their stuff]?
