i went and saw the paper cinema in leeds last night and it was a wonderful piece of live art/performance/film/music...
hundreds of beautifully drawn pen and ink puppets and bits of scenery manipulated live in front of a little camera with the results projected up as the puppeteers and audience watched.
they re-told conan doyle's 'the lost world', it was about 50 mins long and it was spellbinding... [think the end credits to 'a series of unfortunate events' meets oliver postgate/peter firmin]
the youtube clip above is of a poe tale that they do, but you lose a lot of the effect by not being able to see them performing it [which for me, was half the joy of the thing...]
